WE ARE CALLED

Everyone has been called to serve in one way or another. At the Community Kitchen, we have been called to feed Paducah’s hungry. Whether serving a meal or providing a safe place for patrons to shower and do laundry, we believe our most important task is demonstrating the undying love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We extend our hands not simply to meet a need, but in obedience to Him. Thank you for your volunteer hours, your generous contributions and your loving prayers. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Meet Our Team

SALLY MICHELSON

Executive Director

About 10 years ago, Sally's pastor asked if she would like to help feed Paducah's hungry. She jumped at the chance! From the humble beginnings of a church-based soup kitchen to what is now an independently-operated, non-profit organization, Sally Michelson ceases to be amazed by all that God is doing in the lives of those the Community Kitchen serves each day.

JIM TRIMBLE

Warming Center Coordinator
Jim has spent many years helping Paducah families and individuals get connected to financial resources and spiritual nourishment. Much of Jim's work is done behind the scenes, and his love for the patrons of the Community Kitchen is evident in the way he conducts his work.

IRIS HINES

Kitchen Coordinator

Iris started volunteering at the Community Kitchen after her home was flooded a few years ago. She wanted to give back to a community that has continually shown her love and support, especially in times of need. Iris is the face you'll see in the kitchen, helping to coordinate menus, manage volunteer schedules and provide support to anyone who needs it.
Paducah’s Community Kitchen shares the love of Christ through our service to others. We are not a soup kitchen, nor a clothing closet; rather, we are an organization that makes sure food is available to those who are hungry, no matter what their status may be. We are a Christ-centered, non-profit organization, supported by volunteers and the generous donations of those individuals, families, churches, businesses and charitable foundations that make Paducah, Kentucky a wonderful place to live and share God’s love with others.
